Are padded bras and tummy hiding girdles deceitful?

I wonder if men feel tricked by padded bras and other body enhancing articles of clothing, and whether women feel any differently about themselves wearing them.

I think men do feel tricked by those things. I also think they want to be tricked! I say that jewelry, nail color, dressy clothing, body tans sprays and booth systems, hair styling salons (aka perm parlors, styling and hair color), body creams, facial and body waxing, are ALL forms of artifice, to make our appearances more pleasing to ourselves and others. The bible actually says that if a hand offends you, to cut it off. Well, if your appearance offends you, FIX it, and cut off the parts that don't appeal to you. If it doesn't then don't worry about it.

As for whether women feel any differently while wearing padded bras and girdles, of course they feel differently, or they wouldn't be wearing them! I think they feel differently for the better! I don't use any of the artifices except for facial makeup, and I try to dress up as often as money permits. However, if I did need help in the bra department, I probably would use a bra that was padded to help with self confidence. I know that self respect and self confidence are good things to build so that people can carry themselves with a modicum of decency in society and live together in harmony with one another. So...follow the Good Book's advice, I say!

Absolutely they're deceitful, and thank god for 'em!

Listen, everything about our modern world of beauty is fake. The models and celebrities we hold up as standards are completely beyond reality for most women--especially since so many of them are 50% plastic and silicone!

If any of us real women--the ones who have babies but don't get tummy tucks and lipo--want to look like the Barbie dolls men crave from magazines, then we need to cinch things in and boost things outward.

Besides, I think one of the high standards for men when it comes down to sexiness is that they want the sexiest girl in the room, whether or not the bits and pieces under the clothing are real or not. Just give them the fantasy. By the time they get to the bedroom? You could have a brown bag over your face and be covered in warts and boils. Trust me, they'll find a way to still make it happen. As long as you look good in that ridiculously skinny dress!

Ha, whenever I go out in a dress, I tell my husband I'm strapping on "my armor", which is what I affectionately call of my girdling special undergarments. It's sexier when you call it armor.

If padded bras and stomach girdles are deceitful, so is makeup, or hair products -- for men and women -- as is any kind of clothing in general. If people feel "tricked," that's sort of shallow and naive.

As for the second part of your question, the fact that women wear them might point to some kind of insecurity -- but then, it's not entirely their fault. A lot of these body issues come from media representations, which have pervaded our culture with ideas about how a woman "should" look. And it's really hard to resist this conditioning, especially when we're exposed to ads almost 24/7.

Lol, they definitely are! Although I don't wear girdles/padded bras as I don't need them, I wear push-up bras. Hmmm, thanks for the intelligent designers! My breasts don't look saggy at all with the help of my push-up bras. And my personal take, if it makes you look and feel good then why not?

Is capping a broken tooth deceitful? How about wearing high heels? What about wearing deodorant, shaving and brushing your teeth? In every case, you are taking your something that is "natural" and changing it to something more pleasant. So unless you think there are a lot of men looking for short, snaggle tooth, smelly, bad breath women with light mustaches, you better fix up whatever needs to be fixed up.

The first time a man watches you undress, or wakes up beside you when you are both naked, he will know "the truth". If your relationship never progresses to the point where he knows that your bra is padded or you wear a girdle, then he ought to assume that you might or might not, as he would be an extremely foolish man to believe that women don't go to great lengths to make themselves looks attractive. I for one am glad they do.
