Conundrum Next Conundrum
Do any of those hair growth shampoos or vitamins work?
I seem to be losing quite a bit of hair. I've had my physical and healthwise nothing is causing it. I'm not sure if it has to do with getting older and I'm looking for ways to prevent ending up a bald woman.

The main cause of hair loss is a build up of hydrogen peroxide, so try to avoid products with this in them. Also, hair loss can happen for a short time because of a change in your diet or stress as well as other factors. I haven't personally found any product proporting to make your hair grow that actually work. I will say that vitamin B helped my hair grow a bit faster then it normally does, and my nails looked better as well.

I've always been skeptical of products that claim to help hair growth when they are applied to the hair. The hair on the outside of your body is just dead cells. It seems to me we're better off putting those vitamins inside our body where we know they can do some good! Our general good health can be reflected in the condition of our hair, and even though you say there is no physical cause it could be that you are nutritionally deficient. Be sure to eat a diet full of fruits and vegetables, and a minimum amount of meat. Get an adequate amount of exercise, too, and avoid bad habits like smoking to keep your whole body in top shape and your hair in it's best possible condition. It's also normal for our hair to thin as we age, even women, so I wouldn't worry too much unless the hair loss is extreme. I would suggest that you find a hair dresser who is experienced in doing hair for older women and ask her to help you find a hairstyle that will suit your hair's texture and thickness.

Massaging your hair for 3 minutes when shampooing. Use products that are pH balance helps, also try to use avocado or mayo as a weekly mask for your hair it adds luster and shine and provides essential oils to your hair, also helps with dry scalp. This one is a bit strange but a doctor recomended it for hair loss...use contraceptic pills on your shampoo....but be really careful not to let the shampoo containing the pills fall in any other parts of your body, use gloves if you decide to try this one. There are natural pills from Nutralite that are very good they promote healthy hair growth, also help with the skin and nails.Vitamins are also very important. Also avoid using rubber bands to hold your hair especially if they have metal. Using silk like pillow cases also helps to avoid breakage.Last but not least coconut cream for hair apply to the hair and brush from front to back, back to front.
Hope that helps
