Conundrum Next Conundrum
How long after dying your hair should you wait to do it again?
Here's the deal, I'm 40(something) and finally dyed my hair last night, after applying the dye, waiting the 30 minutes, I rinsed and get this, shampooed! Yes I know (now) i wasn't supposed to shampoo, didn't see that on the box!
As you can imagine most of the color is out, you can tell my hair was colored but not much. Can I grab another box and redo since I shampooed or do I have to wait a certain amount of time?

It depends on what type of dye you used. I'd call the company that made the dye (there should be an 800 number on the box) and ask them what the appropriate waiting period is for their dye. If you can't reach them, I'd call a local salon and ask their advice. Some internet sites say 2 weeks, but the only ay to be absolutely sure is to check with the manufacturer.

Was it a permanent or semi-permanent dye?
In the case of permanent, you can re-dye at any time - the suggested time is about 2 weeks to give your hair a little break from the harsh chemicals, the longer the better of course. Make sure you've washed ALL the dye out of your hair so you don't get a chemical reaction - a few shampoos should do it.
In the case of semi-permanent, you need to wait until ALL the dye is gone from your hair before you dye it again. You can speed this process up using a harsher soap like handsoap or dishsoap. You should never re-dye semi permanent color until the color is 100% gone from your hair or it can cause some nasty reactions.
In either case, there is a 1-800 number on the box you can call and they can give you their product-specific recommendation.
Good luck!

You should atleast wait 2 weeks before you go on dying your hair again. You don't want to damage your hair. After dying your hair you should use shampoo and conditoner that treats colored hair and the ones that help maintain the color. There after you should dye your hair every 3 month!! I hope this info helps!!
