How much is too much to spend on a purse?

I found a purse I absolutely adore, but it's a few hundred dollars. I really want to buy it, but am feeling that my money could be spent in other ways. Where should I draw the line between luxury and budgeting?

I absolutely love expensive fashion items and accessories, as does my girlfriend. If you have adored it for between a few and several weeks, and are able to cut your other general life expenses to pay for 50% of the price, I think you should be able to buy it guilt-free. However, other factors to consider are whether or not you'll be able to find it again, whether or not it is a four season bag (vs. summer only, for instance), and even its lifespan (white cloth gets dirty and worn really quickly - guess how I know).
