Conundrum Next Conundrum

I have a very hard time taming flyaways and frizz in my thick, wavy (not curly) long hair.

Does anyone have any advice on how to make it smoother and more controlled without flattening or curling it? I would love to be able to just wash, run the right product through it, and then air-dry and be on with my day. It is "virgin" hair, not dyed or permed if that helps. Thanks!

I don't have wavy hair - but I do have long straight hair that can get frizzy and dry at times. I've tried a lot of smoothing serums, and the one I love the best is Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum. I just rub a small amount through my fingers, then flip my head upside down and run my fingers through my hair. I avoid getting it on my scalp or close to my roots - otherwise it can give your hair a oily look. So just concentrate it on the ends of your hair, and it should work great.

I too swear by Paul Mitchell's Supper Skinny. This is a great product to use in moderation to help tame your fly aways. Also try putting your conditioner in the fridge or another place that will help keep it cool. Rinse your conditioner out with water as cold as you can stand it. This will help seal the hair cuticles and keep moisture out of your hair when you don't want it there. Moisture is a big cause of frizz and fly aways. If your haven't had your hair trimmed in a while and it is very thin at the bottom, consider having it evened out to further help. Also make sure to get rid of any split ends that you may have, which will appear to frizz up no matter what you do.

I have extremely long hair. It also virgin hair, I don't even blow dry it. I have the same problem you have plus I get massive knots that are hard to remove. A few months ago I tried the Dove shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair and it worked beautifully. I have no more flyaways and the knots are gone. i never thought anything could work that well.

I have tried other no frizz products, but is just made my hair look oily. Try the Dove shampoo and conditioner, you will be glad you did.

I think serums are great too, as long as you use them sparingly.John Frieda does a really good one.
