Conundrum Next Conundrum
We're painting a room a nice (very light) lavender color and I'd like an accent wall color - what are some good choices?
I'm just full of painting-related questions this week, but I'm just SO challenged with color. This is a relatively small room full of antique furniture - floors are hardwood (pine). Almost rustic looking. This is pretty close (though it isn't a bedroom):

Our trim is a very white oil base, to set off the walls. I'm accenting with the black framed photos. I'd like one accent wall though, to give me some depth. Help!

I have been researching how to choose an accent wall colour and I came across a very good point. An accent colour can be pulled from something already present in the room whether it's a piece of furniture, a pillow, or accessory... Go to the paint store and get several paint chips of colours that might work. Then bring them home and lay them out in the room you are working on. Choose the paint chip that makes the other colours in the room pop and that seems to flow with the other colours. It's like picking out an outfit to wear. Everything doesn't have to totally match, but the colours should all tie in together somehow. Hope that helps :)
