My online personality actually allows me to be more thoughtful than in person. In person my exterior personality is such that people may enjoy my company, but don't often take me seriously. True, I tend to be very cheerful in person, laugh a lot, and tend to speak very fast, often changing topics in a flash, so I understand why some people do not explore my opinions to profoundly.

Online however, I feel I can expand on my opinions. If I am responding to a person, I feel that I can get the detail of my message out better than I otherwise would; and by consequence be more thoughtful in the process.

The Cheapgamer has an image to uphold.

I like to save people money, I like to help people find fun, and I like to make people smile.

I have had times when I pound out a knee jerk reaction to something that upsets me, however I would say the vast majority of the time I spend on the internet is spent with the above goals in mind whenever I have something to say.

I know people who only have online friends. They talk about them as if they are getting ready to go meet them for a movie and then a heart to heart in a great little coffee shop where they will divulge deep, dark secrets to this wonderful confidant of theirs. Ask this person how many friends they have and they'll give you the number of contacts on their Yahoo! or MSN.

Online friends are important to me, but they are not my 'real life' friends. There is a difference.

But no matter what, I do my absolute best to be respectful to people at all times -- online or offline. I do not bully or get nasty with people just for giggles. Only a truly pathetic person would purposely use online conversations to hurt the feelings of another individual or to take frustrations out on someone while hiding behind the safety of a computer screen. I realize what I say to someone could truly have an impact on them and I don't take that possibility lightly.

I attempt to display my level of intelligence, respect, open mindedness and simple decency during online conversations as much as I do the conversations that I am involved in face to face.
