Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
Do you ever lie about your political beliefs, or hide what you believe?
Whether you're at work, around your friends, with your family, or whoever, do you mislead people about what you believe in order to fit in or hide? Do you think it's wrong to shed your convictions for convenience, or is a good way to protect yourself sometimes?

I am not proud of this, but I do this a lot. I am an agnostic, and I am no longer a Christian. All of my family are devout Christians, my great grandparents were ministers. Most of all, my country requires us to have a formal religion (one of the 5 religion approved by the state). Being religious is labeled good here while having no religion is closely tied to communist.
I just don't want to be hassled because of my (non)belief. It is none of people's business. Unfortunately, in Asian, there are no such things as "not your business" when it comes to family, friends, and workplace. Besides, I still endorse some of the teachings of my former religion, and it’s easier to “advice” people if you base your advice on religious teaching.
I did “come out” to my closest friends a while ago. But they seemed to have forgotten about it and still labeled me as a Christian.

I do what I have to to express my political opinion at the ballot box as often as I can (every local, state and national election since 92) and I feel that is the only place that I need to do so as many if not most discussions about the subject will put me in the minority.
Other than the ballot box and a few exceptions I hide my political beliefs with my lack of words on such subjects
