Racial rather than economic, for a few reasons I guess.
*Its usually very easy to see a person's race or hear a person's background immediately, which is the very first impression. If you have a dispensation to racial views then that's the first thing you notice and discriminate on.
*Its harder these days to judge a person's economic status at first glance. Not always true I know but from what I've seen things like external appearance in clothes isn't between fur and tweed any more.
*You can't change your race or heritage but you can change your economic standing, far more so these days than previous generations ( think of how the internet millionaires are new wealth not old )
*Historically class structures aren't as clear cut as racial structures - they change over time and depend on history. Britain has strong class structure, New Zealand doesn't but both have some common heritage.
In my view I think everyone is pretty much equal, I really don't discriminate on a conscious level (I've never done one of those tests that you can take )
but I must admit to not being fond of people who don't learn from their mistakes :(
that to me is Darwin in action :) :)
