Its true, with age comes wisdom, but some people only become more set in their own ways of doing things.
Regardless, everyone should be able to do and say as they please. And everyone should experience the consequences of that. If someone says something that is inappropriate, older or not, they should be held to the same standard as anyone else.
But often, older people don't have anyone to listen to them. They've lived almost an entire life and have had so many experiences. But what's most valuable is the perspective the have on their experiences.
So, if you're asking if you should listen to an older person, yes! go listen to them.

No. Age does not guarantee wisdom. Age usually brings wisdom through experience but does not always do so. I have also known young people with great wisdom. I have even known children with great wisdom (I do believe in the concept of "old souls") I have also known old fools.
I believe everyone has the right to say whatever the think or feel regardless of age. I don't walk on eggshells with my words or my opinions and don't expect others to either.

Knowledge is to be considered first, not the age, Age can not give the knowledge, it is the process of body changes from child hood to old age .In the process of journey of life one should acquire sufficient knowledge by involving in to every movement of life.
Generally the aged people ..acquire sufficient knowledge in the life journey . when the circumstances offer , they will guide based on the previous knowledge and experience suitably for that problem, so one should consider the knowledge, if it is suitable for the problem, not more than that.

I think wisdom is a very subjective thing. There can be a child who has more wisdom than an older person if the child has experienced something that someone has not. The level of of wisdom aquired, if any is aquired at all, will depend on the idividual. Being wise and having knowledge does also not guarantee wise behavior, so then is that person unwise? Lots of people smoke, some young and some old, although they know smoking is bad for your health and an unwise choice, yet I wouldn't say everyone who smokes is unwise. Partly I agree that with age comes wisdom because of the life experiences one has had. Should older people be able to say whatever they want? Well, they can say whatever they want just as a young person can say whatever they want. Knowing how what you say will be interpreted would require some wisdom. So I would say a wise person doesn't say whatever they want, but would say only what needed to be said.

As an older person, I've had the opportunity to observe foolishness and wisdom in all its varieties, and I've decided that wisdom has very little to do with age. Young people can have the maturity and insight to be very wise, and older people can be so set in their ways that they can't respond to change or respect anyone's else's point of view. Certainly, they're free to say whatever they want, but nobody is obliged to listen or to agree with them. In general, I'd say that those who lack any wisdom when they're young aren't going to gain it as they get older. Sometimes, though, a truly difficult or emotionally wrenching experience will wake them up and they'll look at the world differently.
