No.
I see that as a pointless measure. In a planet so vastly over populated why should we take efforts to save those who want to destroy themselves? If they want to die, let them. Don't waste contributing members of societies time or resources trying to stop them.

When asking opinion based questions.. generally you don't vote no best answer simply because you disagree.

I believe that is a very dangerous road, far more dangerous than those habits are actually.
Over the last twenty years or so there has been a 'holier than thou' movement to save people from themselves. Laws passed to force people to behave in a way that the majority considers to be acceptable.... at the expense of individual choice. Prohibition proved to be a bad idea in the US, but nobody seems to have learned the lesson.
I am all for locking up folks who are a danger to OTHERS, but if all they are hurting is themselves.... support should be offered to help them stop if they wish it, but locking them up to force treatment down their throats has an incredibly low success rate.
Those that think such things are a good idea should consider what THEY do that others might wish to force them to stop. Overeating is one example. Skiing, swimming, riding in cars, drinking alchohol, talking on cell phones, snowmobiles, spraypaint, etc etc etc. All have been targeted by activist groups that would control your behaviour if allowed and will outlaw your activity 'for your own good'.
There are many others.
In short late I consider it a bad bad bad bad idea. :)
and no, I do not use drugs and am certainly not anorexic.
Take care!
