Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
Does a comfortable desk chair exist?
I cannot find a chair I can be comfortable in for more than an hour. How do you deal with spending so much time at your computer? Is your chair comfortable?

I have the same problem, and I found a unique solution! I bought one of those exercise balls to sit on. A lot of people recommend them because they're very good for your back and posture, and they're good exercise when you bounce a bunch (like I do, because I'm still 5 years old at heart).
So I sit in my normal chair, the comfiest one I could find at Staples under $300, until my butt gets sore because I'm a lazy computer monkey. Then I send the pug dog from my lap to his snuggle ball, grab the exercise ball, and start bouncing.
Not only does it help fix my "computer butt" soreness, but often it kind of wakes me up and unblocks any brain freeze I have going on. So mentally good, and physically good. Keep one on hand for when you need to mix up your seating!

Many people consider a good quality desk chair the only piece of office equipment worthy of a high price and careful consideration.
Many large companies and even a few smart startups provide Herman Miller Aeron chairs. These chairs were the first to be manufactured with consideration for the user rather than the price. These chairs are expensive. They cost between $500 and $1000.
Personally, I'm a fan of the Herman Miller Mirra:

Your best bet is to visit a "chair store". While you may have to travel to a large city in your area to find one, there are stores filled with nothing but chairs. You can sit, lounge, try them out and when ready, buy. I suggest that you ask about their satisfaction and return policies. If you know that you can return a chair after trying it for a few days of normal use, you'll know that you can make an informed decision.
Beyond the char, remember that your comfort relies significantly on ergonomics. In short, ensure not only that your chair is adequate but that your desk is the proper height, that your wrists are well supported and that the light is adequate. Also, many people find that placing a soft mat under their feet or sometimes a footstool provides a significant improvement. You can find out more about ergonomics here: http://ergonomics.org/
Best of luck finding a comfortable chair. My advice: Don't cheap out. A quality chair can last a lifetime.
