I think I would actually prefer it!

I would have the comfort of my own surroundings to keep me calm, cool and collected. I really wouldn't have to worry about what to wear as long as I kept the camera close to my face.

It's always unnerving walking into a room of strangers that are about to grill you with questions. Strange people and strange environment all make for an atmosphere conducive to an interview disaster. I think I would be much more comfortable sitting at my own desk in my own home and therefore ace any questions that are thrown at me.

Plus it's the 2000's....why not! :)

I don't think I would like it...It wouldn't feel real, if the webcam was lagging then it would get messed up...I would much rather do a face to face or on the phone. Webcam doesn't seem as if it was created for interviewing...

I don't think I'd mind too much. When I've been working online for the past 8 years or so, I'm used to doing everything online, so doing an interview via webcam wouldn't bother me a bit.

I've done streaming meetings where I was the focus and hundreds of folks were watching me, and I've done videos with my voice and trainings and phone stuff a lot.

Webcam interviews wouldn't bother me. I think it's kinda neat!

I wouldn't mind it. Most of the time, I drive at least 45 minutes to an hour to a job interview anyway. It'd certainly save me a lot of gas money! Sure, I'm not too webcam-photogenic, but I get the impression that most people aren't. It would prompt a lot of concerns, like how my surroundings look (messy? cluttered?) and such, but I'm sure I could get used to that.

I don't think think having a job interview via web cam would make any difference to me today. Actually, I would almost expect to be interviewed in this manner by technology companies.

I wouldn't mind it, but to be honest I'd be a little worried about the quality of the feed. I always want to appear as professional as possible, so I may be concerned about poor lighting or choppiness. Other than that, I'd be fine.

I think there would be some advantage to participating in an interview held via webcam, such as being in the comfort of your own home and being able to control displays of nervousness (shaky hands or knees) as well as position of seating (legs crossed or not), since the interviewer will likely not be able to see these parts of the body in the webcam. Also, you can have a “cheat” sheet nearby (out of the webcam’s view of course) with answers to popular questions asked on interviews or with information of your employment history. Some challenges, however, may include technical difficulties that may arise is the internet connection is lost, the webcam turns off, or the microphone is not functional. Further, conversations via webcam also do not allow direct eye contact with the interviewer, which is considered a vital component of every job interview, since it shows your interviewer that you are sincere, self-confident, and not intimidated. Finally, stay-at-home parents who interview for an online job via webcam may be tempted to keep their children at home, since they are doing the job interview from their own home, and experience a number of distractions during the interview if their children feel they need the parent’s attention at that time. Other household interruptions or background noises (dogs barking, children playing outside in neighborhood, TV on, construction work outside, etc) may also be negatively impacting on your first impression with the interviewer. Overall, I think I would agree to participate in an online job interview via webcam. The times have changed and so have employment opportunities, which becomes obvious when considering the large number of online work from home or telecommuting jobs available today. And so, we have to be able to make necessary adjustments and be as flexible as possible in order to remain competitive in this job market.

If my salary will be in my pocket instead of looking at it through the web-cam, I don't mind :)

I think it is a sign of a cheap company which isn't willing to spend the money necessary to hire the best candidates.
