No. There is much suffering that we cannot understand, that is probably completely senseless, no matter how you look at it. There is a lot of suffering that I would take away if I could. But if it's an all or nothing question, I would leave it all because without suffering, we could not appreciate anything. There needs to be darkness or else the light isn't beautiful. There needs to be suffering or there is no beauty, comfort, love, or serenity.
Buddhists believe life is suffering. It inspires in many people compassion, a feeling of shared humanity with all others, and even hope. I would prefer a world where we sometimes suffer, if it means that sometimes we feel intense love for our fellow human being.
That being said, I understand that I say this from a place of privilege where my suffering has been limited. It's a biased perspective.

This is a difficult question, but it is likely that I would not. The advancements of society, the acts of compassion, the exercises of benevolence, are not made during times of contentment, but in times of hardship, discontent and suffering.

Humans don't learn from pleasure, they learn from pain. Case in point, Pavlov's dogs. If all pain were removed, humanity would become stagnant and not evolve or progress at all. Besides, without pain, there can be no joy, because how would we know the difference? Pleasure is the absence of pain. If one has never known pain, then one would not know they were experiencing pleasure. Humans need to qualify things, so if there were only pleasure, the smallest amount of pleasure would become our "pain", so that we could differentiate.
If I could eliminate one source of suffering, it would be war. War is unnecessary suffering. Not all suffering is unnecessary, but war truly is. Nothing is learned from war, obviously, or we would not ever start another one.
