What do you mean "hunting for sport?" I do think most hunters, except the nuts like Sarah Palin's ilk, kill and eat the animals.
I am an ethical vegan, so my answer might surprise you. I'd be more likely to respect someone who hunts their food than the thoughtless masses who go to the grocery store and buy their factory farmed food without a care. At least someone who hunts has the nerve to see what they are doing to the animal, and there is no doubt that the animal suffers less at the hands of a hunter than the farmer. (And don't talk about free-range meat, blah blah, that's a joke. It's well documented that is a scam, free-range can mean the chicken is stuck in an indoor pen in the dark warehouse instead of an 8x10 cage. It's nonsense, no meat you buy in the store has had anything like a normal existence.)

Although it would be more "comfortable" to date and marry someone who is also a vegetarian, chances are not high to find someone with that designation along with all the other traits that one really wants in a serious date or spouse.
So, if that person truly enjoys hunting and eating meat, you either have to accept that as part of the person's "makeup" and work around it.
If you absolutely cannot stomach the thought of such a hunter, it would probably be best to not date that person.

In my own opinion, my being vegetarian has no connection with whom will I be dating with. Besides, no one is perfect. Hunting for sports is still hunting. If I didn't like his being hunter and I feel the need to save animals then I would date him so I can influence him and make him a vegetarian, too.
*I am not a vegetarian, I eat meat but I don't kill animals myself even chickens. And I don't want to see them suffer pain when they're being slaughtered.

You are the "thoughtless masses" to which I refer. So you eat meat, but can't bear to see the pain they suffer to end up on your plate? Poor you. I've got news for you, you DO kill animals. Just because you pay someone else to do it for you doesn't mean you aren't responsible for the murder.
And hunting for sport is worse, not better, than hunting for food. It's just killing for the sake of killing. What could be worse than that?
