I have always wondered how the hell anyone would have an appetite knowing they were going to die. I could be wrong, but I do not think I would request anything. Perhaps extra drugs by mouth BEFORE the big event would be my choice, if I had one. I would definately desire to be in an ALTERED STATE, before being executed, but hungry? I don't think so.

Well, my guess is that for at least some of the people on death row for a long time, they would have come to a mindset of acceptance at that point. Maybe they'd want just one last thing that would taste good and feel somewhat pleasurable before dying. Different people cope in different ways, I suppose.

First, a fine salad made from all fresh grown ingredients including lettuce, yellow pear tomatoes, shredded edam cheese, carrots and onion.

For a moment there, I started to consider my favorite foods and how to choose among them. Then I thought, why do that?

Instead, what I would do is ask for an assortment of "weird" foods and/or drinks that I've never tried before. For example, here is a list of 10 items from around the world along with photos:

That particular list includes Birds Nest Soup, Puffin Heart and Snake Wine, just to name a few.

After all, if I don't like any of it, at least I got to try it... and at least I'll never, ever have to try it again! What's the worst that could happen-- it kills me?

I guess my tastes are pretty low-brow because I've always said I'd want a McDonalds chocolate milkshake and McChicken sandwich. Several, actually, since cholesterol would be the least of my concerns in this situation!
