Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
Just saw a David Blaine special last night for the first time and I'm very impressed. How does he do the levitation trick?
I know for a fact it's not a shoe mechanism or him standing on a tiptoe that's just out of sight. He very clearly leaves the ground several inches. I also know for a fact it isn't wires or harnesses. How does he do this? Yogis in India have supposedly been levitating for centuries, but it's never been absolutely proven that I know of.

Was the show live? The video attached shows how to do a levitation trick when the body is positioned at an angle, but the rise only occurs an inch or so, because you have to do it tiptoe. The producers of the video believe that the videos showing him doing it any higher are edited stunts with wires, hoists and stand-ins.
I personally believe that levitation can be done, but only by yogis and genuine shamans. Does David Blaine have this ability? I don't know.
I have attached another video of an African shaman doing levitation.

It was taped, but he was doing street magic. So, he was walking up to various people on the street and doing his tricks for them right on the street and their reactions seemed very real, not like actors.
I, too, believe levitation can be achieved for real eventually, but only after decades of spiritual practice and meditation. David Blaine was born in 1973! No way he could achieve that level at such a young age. I guess one day the truth will come out. Until then, I'm thoroughly perplexed!
