Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
What advantages of modern day life do you enjoy as compared to when you were younger?
I didn't go to the movies much as a child so I'm going to say the invention of VHS and then DVD movies. Movie night is a really big event at our house with huge buckets of popcorn. Of course now instead of renting DVDs we just buy it on demand. You don't have to leave your house and there is no late fee. :)

There are many stuffs actually that makes me enjoy life more right now...
1. Cellphones - I can communicate with people right away. I could tell them if there's an emergency or other news without waiting for us to meet each other again or for the reply if I've sent the message via snail mail.
2. Computer - I can do almost anything with my computer. Communicate with people, do my job (I'm a web developer ^^), watch movies, anime or listen to music, play games, and many more! Computer makes our life easy. ^^ I guess it's one of the greatest invention of all time.
3. Social networking sites - Imagine seeing your long lost buddy over Facebook which can happen in an instant compared to waiting for the time where you see each other personally which can also never happen at all. ^^
Here are some stuffs which makes my life enjoyable! I can't live without my cellphone now nor my laptop. :)

I would say definitely the computer.
Of course, when I was real young, we were always outside playing games with all the neighborhood children, and in the evenings we had homework or listened to
the radio and eventually television.
But now, in my "twilight" years, the computer is a real blessing for keeping in touch with friends, learning all types of interesting information, getting pictures of the family in another state, making new friends in forums, etc.
Also, I found a way of making extra money by writing articles for internet sites, so the computer can actually pay for itself!!

The two modern conviences I appreciate the most are running water and electricity! Washing out of a pan or bucket is, well, not easy:

And while candle light is romantic, it is not when you live by candle power:

Keeping in touch with friends through text, email, and chat. We don't have this before when I was younger and it is really hard to be away from friends and family with only snail mail to look forward to. But now even if my brother and his family immigrated abroad, we constantly see them online to keep in touch. I feel that they are just in another town because we can talk to them through skype or YM.
These are the advancement in technology that I really think is very helpful for me because it bridges the distance between friends, family and loved ones.

I would have to say a tie between my cell phone and email. The cell has allowed me to instantly take care of anything that comes up, or instantly ignore it. The email just lets me save paper while conveying important information or funny pics. Plus its faster than sending it the old fashioned way.
I grew up with tv, computers, microwaves (still prefer the stove, better tasting food), etc. so many of them I have never lived without.
I have to say it, the things that have been the most detrimental or bothersome in recent years has a few entries as well. #1 on my list of that is social networking sites (nobody has a sense of privacy anymore, all that data is public and can be dangerous in the wrong hands) and #2 is the self checkout lanes at the grocers. I am not training for a part time job, and still paying the same price to do somebody's job, thereby making some fat cat richer while eliminating the jobs that many people need.
