Greedy shoppers that push people out of the way to reach their in-store destinations and forget about the true meaning of Christmas are probably the most bothersome symptom of the Christmas season. The last few days before Christmas are especially difficult to shop for a few last cooking items before the holiday arrives, since last minute shoppers tend to rudely burrow their way through the store, clog shopping aisles, and look annoyed at anybody trying to pass them to reach a much needed item from the shelf behind them. Yes, the holiday shoppers trying to out-do their friends by purchasing excruciatingly expensive gifts for their children and hunting for bargains and sale items definitely make the season less jolly and only remind us how commercialized Christmas has become.

Ooh those are two good answers. I would have to say I have a lot fewer problems during the holidays now that a certain family member is no longer a family member. But his problem was a very grinchy attitude during the holidays. I do understand that it's a time of year that can either make or break people emotionally. But I guess people that intentionally try to disrupt a normally festive time of year because they have a personal grudge against it.
What I really hate are the price gougers on the popular kids toys. The stinking Zhu Zhu pets are a perfect example. This is an $8.00 item (for the single one) that people are going to the stores, snapping up every single one, and then reselling them for 100% - 200%+ more. I have seen them go for up to $50.00. There was even some sort of rare colored zhu zhu on an ebay auction for $5,000 and it had a bid. Who in their right mind (and I suppose that the key) would pay 5K for a lousy $8 item. I don't like to see my child sad for something but I would draw the line at people extorting money from me for popular items.

What I hate the most is the STRESS of the holiday season.
For many weeks everyone is rushing around trying to buy gifts for way too many people, and they have to encounter the hassles of items not being available as advertised and the crowds of people milling around.
Then there is the card exchange. With the price of postage, it is getting totally out of sight to send out the large amount of cards that people send.
Why don't they pare down their lists to just those family members and friends who really matter and who look forward to a chatty letter? I'm sure everyone would love to eliminate those who have been on their lists for many years and just sign their names -- hardly worth the postage!!!
Then there is the stress of the holiday dinners, especially if the cooking and baking falls on just the host/hostess. More and more people are rightfully asking others to bring a dish or two so that the chores can be shared by everyone. And those who don't bring anything should be relegated to clearing the table, putting things away, and doing the dishes and all the pots and pans!!
Add the stress of thinking of loved ones who are gone and will not be there to celebrate. That brings on a different level of depression for each person, and some people don't do at all well at the holidays.
Down-size your holidays and make things a lot easier on yourself.

aww easy one I dislike everyone buying tons of gifts to show their love for relatives they never see the rest of the year. When I was working in a nursing home a few years ago, families would bring in a ton of gifts for relatives and then visit all day. The other 364 days those families would be absent.

The fact that it's so commercialized and hectic. Sometimes we get caught up in the frenzy and forget about the real meaning of Christmas.

I hate the Christmas songs playing loud repeatedly in the shops. I don't like the crowded malls either. So if I need to go shopping, I will do it in the early morning.
I hate to see all the Charities coming with sad music on the TV to get donations. Why they have to play the sad tunes with all the pathetic scenes? Why can't they show somebody happy because of the help they received?
Also, I don't want to see the people with a pan in the mall asking for donation to their organization. I agree they need to get money to give to the poor. People will donate if they wanted to. Please don't make a business out of holidays.
I am really tired of Santa in all the ads.
