I actually have a very hard time trusting people again. Honestly, I think that's because trust involves forgiveness, and I don't forgive easily. That's not something I consider a healthy trait in myself, but I know it to be true.
In order for me to ever regain trust with someone, I need an opportunity to vent all of my feelings out, because otherwise they simmer into a grudge. So, the person needs to be willing to sit and hear what I have to say. Then they need to be able to outline, in detail, how they rebuild my trust, then follow through.
I don't think it's always a good idea to try to trust people again, because sometimes they have taught you that quite frankly, they cannot be trusted, and you will always get burned trying to depend on them. I think it's important to determine if they are even worthy of your trust under any circumstances, before you let them come back in.
