To me,there is a line.I only tell white lies if I believe the truth would hurt their confidence(such as someone's bad cooking),but when it comes to life changing things, such as a spouse cheating,I will tell the truth.

The line is an opinion because one lie may be horrible to one person while one person may think it's harmless.

white lies are harmless like a secret serious is something that can endanger someone such as saying they killed someone.

Nope - it's too much of a slippery slope. White lies come from the fear of hurting someone's feelings or a fear of them not liking you. Truth told with love - like an offer to help the bad cook make dinner tomorrow abd teaching them a great recipe - is much better. Getting caught lying always causes more pain than you save by telling that little lie.
