Why is it that so many live as if they were dying and use 2012 as their reasoning?

The world ending in 2012 is an uneducated assumption that can be disproved with further research, and this way of life is reckless and irresponsible.

This is simply because of lack of proper education, illogical reasoning, having distrust on science and blind faith on prophecies and predictions and being superstitious.

There may be another reason. It may be the perfect alibi for those careless and reckless lots who just want to have fun at any cost. It is a perfect excuse for them.

I think that the second possibility makes more sense.

Its sad so many are living like this, they are in for a rude awakening when 2013 rolls around. fools will live foolishly and blame it on a host of events and people and this is no different.
