That would depend on the secret and what was at stake if it was revealed.
As example though entirely unrealistic, say my home is broken into an my family is hiding someplace and I know where, they want to know where because they want to kidnap my husband because he's a microbiologist (he's not, he's a cook but we're talking hypothetical here) in that instance my personal safety and well being are in danger however revealing the "secret" of their location would endanger my family and the well being of others.
If my sacrifice would save others I cared about from personal harm I would keep the secret.

Absolutely not. Safety is very important and it is the first order of business. Before we start anything we should check to see if it is safe. If it is not safe then it could be dangerous. Safety has to be first.

Give me an example of a secret that compromises my safety.
Unless I work for the Government and swore to die before revealing State secrets, I can't think of anything someone would be silly enough to ask me to keep quiet knowing they're putting me at risk.
Movie plots threaten people if they don't keep quiet, don't see that happening in real life though.
I guess abused persons keeping quiet might fall into this category, but I wouldn't advise keeping quiet. There are always options.
