No! Not only are there plenty of things I would like to forget, it would be so much wasted space. If you could remember every detail of every moment of your life, I think it would feel like an incredible amount of mental clutter. Forgetting is an important mental function, to keep more relevant information at the forefront, and clear room for processing the information that we're currently taking in.
Even if my mind had unlimited space, I still wouldn't want to be able to remember absolutely everything. I think it would keep the past too fresh, thus making the present harder to focus on.

Our mind is a miraculous thing. It "forgets" things many times to protect us. If we could never forget, every time we thought about a physically painful experience, we would actually feel the pain all over again. Can you imagine telling someone about a horrible accident you were in, and reliving the pain? Your mind allows you to relive events without reliving the emotions, as well, although it takes longer. In some cases, like with holocaust survivors, the emotional pain is so great, they cannot even talk or think about it without reliving it.
I would never want to lose the ability to forget the bad things, but if I could choose, I would love to remember all the good things.

I actually have a very good memory and it annoys people when I can repeat a conversation or action that happened even two years ago. But it works for me in a business where thinking quick is necessary. I do not log everything as the things that are insignificant to me are not necessary. I remember when I worked retail in College and before a customer came to the office and I was there with the owner going over the books. She wanted a return on a shower curtain and the salesgirl was asking what to do the owner said look up the item. I looked at it gave the name, the manufacturer and told the women we stopped carrying it 3 years earlier and what store we shipped the last of our stock to. After the women left the owner looked at me and I told him I know all the stock in the store, it was a large Mall store, he said I thought only I did. He ended up selling the business for $80,000,000 as his son wanted to be a poet.
