Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum

Would you stop writing and answering conundrums if you found out they were only used to make money for people from another website?

Let's say you just found out there are other websites paying money to people for providing human powered answers to just about any type of question in the world. If you found out your answers were being linked to another website and other people are making money off of you for your best answers would you continue to provide conundrum answers?

Could you perhaps be referring to the Mahalo/Conundrum partnership?
It's no secret if so. Conundrum uses Mahalo's engine for questions and answers.

We get money for answering questions, Mahalo gets advertising money, Conundrum gets ad space and traffic. Everyone wins.

The typical amount of research I do for a question is anywhere between 1 - 5 minutes. I find that the small amount of time I spend on answering the question is worth the chance at $1 and if the site who helps me win money makes money, it frankly makes me happy. I want the sites to do well as they have given me entertainment and money.

ON THE OTHER HAND . . .

If there is a site using this information that is not resulting in benefit for Mahalo or Conundrum ex. taking credit for the information and not linking back to Mahalo or Conundrum I would be quite upset. I wouldn't stop answering questions, but I would get information back to the parent sites ASAP so they aren't loosing money on this.
Asker's Rating:
• I was basically dissatisfied with all the answers because no one who wasn't affiliated with Mahalo answered my question! You can't be unbiased in the answer as you are affected by it, but you were straight up with your answer. I however was affected by this, I had NO clue that my answers were being posted on another website in a search engine fashion. I read the fine print on things, and I was unaware of this joint venture when I signed up to join ConundrumLand.com. I was made aware I could sign into Conundrumland.com using Facebook or Mahalo, but not what that really meant.

Yes, but when you signed up you already knew that there would be money made from your answers, either by you are by someone else?? I don't believe the sign up screen mentions that little tidbit. Just that others can log in from those other sites. Not that they are making money from this one.

Yes I knew immediately.

I signed up on Mahalo first and noticed that they had adds that were visible on the page (adds = money for page views)

Conundrum works a bit differently. It pays Mahalo to use the question and tip engine and to drive traffic to the site.

Note this isn't exactly making money on your answers, other then the fact that if your answers are so very good that they drive traffic to the site, therefore resulting in more hits to the site and the adds.

It's just like every other question and answer site on the web, with the exception that you have a chance of making money too if you answer well.

No not at all. I don't see why that would bother me in the least bit. As long as I'm enjoying what I'm doing, what other people are or are not doing doesn't affect me in the least. Anyone is welcome to use my questions or answers in any way that is of benefit to them. If they are making money off of them, more power to them. Knowing what I have written, I can't believe that they could possibly be making too much money off my questions and answers, I just don't think there is really that much of a market or value to what I write. It's just a little something I enjoy. Sometimes I do better than others. Oh, and I almost forgot, I've had some really good advice on some real live problems that I've posted on here.

I'm not really in a position to say yes to that, you know? Honestly, on the Internet, it's safe to assume that no matter WHAT you write, there's somebody out there scraping it to make money. That's just how it is, and all the regulation targeted at this has been somewhat sketchy First Amendment-wise. (The FTC blogger thing, for instance.) So there's not much point in letting them dictate what I do.
