Would you survive without your computer?

I recently almost had a heart attack when my computer shut down (because of the adaptor) and wondered what I'd do without one. How much of your life is stored on your computer and would you be able to live without one?

Well, I lived from 1959 to 1995 without a home computer, and until 2001 without internet. I suspect I could do so again without much trouble. I'm pretty good at adapting to extreme changes, I've had to do it several times. We have some pictures on the computer, but more stored in boxes.

I love my computer and spend a lot of time on it, but I absolutely could get by without it, and I even dare to think it might be a better life (sacrilege).

Here's a funny little idea what it might be like:

Practically all of my recreational and professional activities get done with my computer. It would be extremely difficult to continue on with the resources my computer gives me. Of course I could survive, but it is an existence I would not enjoy -_-.

Well I'd survive... any important data (including photographs, documents etc) is backed up and stored securely away from my house. So it would be a pain if my computer was hit by a lightning bolt but not the end of the world.

Of course i'd then have the problems of what to do while i was computerles. Facebook, twitter and ConundrumLand would have to fend for themselves without me being able to guide them.

Quite how i'd survive with only having the TV to watch television on though is an interesting question that I'd rather not have to deal with.

All my manuscripts, my work, my photos, my important papers (scanned) and everything are on my computer and I back them up regularly to a 500gig hard drive.

While on most fronts I could survive without a computer, it would radically alter my business and how I live my life.

I am blessed to be able to work from home and do what I love surrounded by the people I love. With my health, I cannot hold down a regular job, and I do need to work.

My computer is a gateway to normalcy for me.

While I do have backed up data, the simple truth is that I could not even come close to living without my computer. Actually, even taking away the unlimited data plan on my phone would probably send me off the edge. That being said, I'm not at all concerned about how heavily I rely on technology because it simply allows me to get so much more done. If I never had the opportunity to become attached to tech in the first place, I think I'd be significantly worse off right now.

I would be able to...but the main question would be do I want to and that answer is absolutely not! I have everything on this thing. I contact all friends and family...and I keep myself from getting bored...My next favorite thing is the Xbox 360...but when I'm stuck..I need my computer...so it's a lose situation for me...

My computer is my source of income and my creative outlet, I could not be without it for an extended period of time I would lose the house, could not pay bills etc. I can and have survived a few days without my computer when I take vacations but without it I'd be forced to go get a real job that offers no flexibility. I would be so bored.
