A very touchy story .
I suppose yes.
It's a fact that people tend to do that.I any way or case it's advisable to give help to everyone even to animals.
The quality of being good is more than welcome in such situation.
so let's be always helpful and caring with our pets.

I'd take the dog, let the cat fend for himself, and eat the koi.
Reasoning there...
My dog is a working breed (giant malamute) he would be useful to me beyond my sentimental attachment and worth the small portions a dog can survive on until we got back on our feet.
My cat is a cat, he can catch his own fill and I'd likely find him later. (Low population town-Alaska)
The koi are gonna die anyway, if there tank wasn't busted, I'd eat um. Koi are food after all.

Well I am a bird person, I would take my tropical birds with me. I am land locked in Pennsylvania so tornadoes and earth quakes are not a problem here but a blizzard is a big problem. If my electricity goes off there is no heat here, I have natural gas heat BUT it needs electric to work. So if a blizzard came my birds would be gonners unless I took them somewhere before it began.

I have way to many pets! I have...
4 Dogs, Cheona (my puppy) Buster (brothers dog), Haley (brothers dog), and Nola (brothers dog)
... I would take Cheona, she is the youngest, and Buster, she is the smallest. I would make them fit!
6 Cats, Pumpkin, Jerry, Socks, Lexi, Ella, Billy.
....I would take the two kittens with me. Pumpkin and Jerry.
The rest of the animals, I would put in a boat. And hope for the best. Very sad, but most likely where ever I go, they will not allow pets, or at least not allow many pets. I have a lot of people in my family (who do not own pets) They could pretend that one is theirs, (If we find a place that allows 1 pet per person lol.) I could not leave my pets. I love my pets. They are like family.
This is just a small amount of animals, my family had tons more, but then again I am just 1 of 8 kids :)

It would depend on whether I would have use of my vehicle, if so, then yes I would take my three dogs and two cats. If I were on foot however, I would just let them make their own way. I know the dogs would follow me, I am the pack leader and they go wherever I go. Now one of the cats would also follow, I have had her since she was a tiny kitten and she currently comes on walks with me and the dogs anyway. The other cat is a semi-ferral and would not follow, but as he has lived wild before, I am sure he would survive again, its not an instinct you lose.

Of course I would take my dog. He could help protect me as well as providing companionship. And as much as I wish he wouldn't he drinks out of questionable puddles like it is fine champagne. He isn't a picky eater, either, so I don't think food would be a problem for him. I would leave my six chickens behind to fend for themselves, hopefully I would find them later. I would take my cat if he was around instead of wandering around the neighborhood like he usually is. I would want to take him as long as I could locate him.
