Conundrum Next Conundrum
Do you think Jon Gosselin was right to put an end to Jon and Kate plus eight?
Jon Gosselin shut down filming when a cease and desist order was filed by Jon Gosselin. He claims it was for the children. Now he has emptied the family bank account claiming Kate has a million dollars. Do you think he is finally thinking of the children or trying to get the money he thinks his wife has to surface?

I think that this this is a case of a horribly public messy divorce.
Fueled by money and the media, I don't believe that _anything_ is truly in the best interest of the children.
As with any messy divorce, this is a power struggle between two people. If either Jon or Kate was truly concerned with the children, they would send the cameras away and shut down the show.

If Jon Gosselin felt that the show was bad for the children, he should have put an end to it when the divorce was imminent. I don't really buy the epiphany he had that it was something he had to do "for the kids". I think it is an issue of control and the fact that he was "let go" from the show. They both want control, yet they lack trust in one another in order to have an equal share in everything. Their money just might be the root of all evil.
Ending the show would be one piece of the puzzle that may benefit the children. However, is Jon (or Kate) going to stop running to the media to air dirty laundry? Involving the media in essentially everything has made things terribly ugly. All that ugliness is being aired on news and entertainment shows and in magazines when it can easily be kept between the two of them and their lawyers.
I think this is all going to boil down to their fortune.

It does seem like he's shutting it down for the money, but he is the father and has every right to make a decision like this one. It's better that he do it now then wonder for the rest of his and their lives if he should have. One thing to consider though, is that if there's no show, there's way less money coming in. He'd be hurting himself more by shutting it down.
