If you know for sure it's illegal, then you should tell your cousin. It's up to you, if you want it give it back.

Let him know how you feel, he may be aware or he may have been duped himself.

If he is aware and comfortable with it, let him know that it is not comfortable for you and return it.

It may not be illegal. You may want to have a discussion with him about your values and beliefs about pirated software, and explain that its important to you that any software you use is legitimate. You can then open up a discussion about the software he gave you, and explain your concerns. If he confirms that its illegal or that he's unsure of its origin, you'll have paved the way for him to understand why you feel you can't keep it.

Find out is it legal. If it is illegal, then yes, you can return saying that you are not comfortable using an illegal software.

Make sure that it is definitely illegal before you do anything. Accusing him of it being illegal when it isn't could just create unnecessary fights. If it is illegal than it is completely up to you whether you keep it or not. It's all about what you feel comfortable doing.
