Even if I worked for the company I would turn them in!

The economy doesn't matter in the long run if the enviroment is destroyed.

The company is likely doing it to cut costs, reporting them does not mean they would be closed, it might mean more jobs are created to clean up the mess and handle the waste correctly in the future.

I would look for economical alternatives, and then approach the owner of the company with the alternatives that I had found. I would be sure to let the owner know that people knew about it besides me, though, or I might turn up missing like in the movie Silkwood!

I would blow the whistle.

It would be tough, but there are other companies that are out there that may buy it out when it hits financial trouble. It is a tough thing to do, but doing the right thing is rarely the easy choice.

In a heartbeat, I'd turn them in. There are so many companies/people out there that abuse our ecosystem with their crap, and they proliferate because of witnesses who doesn't have the courage to blow the whistle and and keep it to themselves.< ah
