I'm a guy and generally hate romance movies but there is however one I loved.

Great choices. Ideally the best romantic movies would appeal even to people who don't usually like "chick flicks".

And btw, in defense of chick flick fans like myself, the most recent movies that have come out in the genre really are garbage. And we know it. They didn't always used to be so ludicrous and formulaic (Go away, Katherine Heigl, go away!).

Most romantic and a little tear-jerker too are:
1. A Walk to Remember
2. If Only

I personally like this two movies. Story of true love, romance... though it has a sad ending, it is evident in the movie that true love still exists.

Now that I think about.. I suck at picking romance movies.. but this is what I would play because they have romantic back stories but are still entertaining. I never liked straight "chick flick" type movies.

Sweeney Todd as a romantic movie? I always saw it as an movie against romance. The most "romantic" character, Anthony, is portrayed as hopelessly naive at best, and not all that different from Judge Turpin at worst. (Note how his song is worded: "I'll steal you...")

I hate that conundrum land doesnt message with comments lol I never notice.

Sweeny Todd is not a tradition romance movie but the entire movie is about love and the things it drives us too. Todd's life is ruined by another man's "love" for his wife, and then the loss of the love of his life leads Todd to kill and be blind to the love of Miss Lovett who deceives him, again for love. Then you have Todd's daughter and the boy and their classic love story, the very thing Todd was so enraged at losing and he nearly kills his daughter and that love in his blind hate. Lastly you have the boy demonstrating the love for a "mother".

The entire movie is about love. It's the perfect romance movie for the horror movie fan. :D

My favorite is . . . The Fifth Eliment ^_^

Note it is highly likely only geeks will find this romantic, fortunately for me my wife shares my love of Sci-Fi.

If you want a more traditional look you may enjoy this list, The 14 most romantic movies ever made, The topper really is a fantastic pick which I won't spoil here.
