Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
Are Thanksgiving tasks assigned in a sexist fashion at your house?
It seems we still hear about many households where the women do all the cooking and cleaning, and if they are fortunate, hubby and three other healty male relative drink and watch TV, or ask "How long til dinner?" (don't you want to kill them?) How does this go down at your house?

Like I said before on one of my other posts here, my refridgerator magnet says it all. "No woman ever shot a man while he was doing dishes!" If I do all that cooking (and believe me, we don't want him cooking--no, we really don't) then you can bet your life, he better help with putting away the food and cleaning up that mess! Fortunately, most of the time he doesn't make me want to beat him with a shotgun, and occasionally thinks to clean it up all by himself! heh That only took 15 years to train him to do. I wonder what else he can be trained to do? j/k lol

• don't worry, I'm not making money of your answer (lol). It's a good answer though, I liked the irony. Thanks!

Pretty much at my house they break down along the women in the kitchen men in the den with the tv.
I find some of it annoying, but I think if they were in the kitchen and I was having to teach them what a Pot or a Stove was it would be more annoying. I am fortunate he knows where the refrigerator is.

My husband is actually a FAR better cook than me, as that is his profession. He pretty much does all the cooking and I clean it up so it's a fair split. I also do the baking, he oddly is incapable of baking. I like to bake though.
We always try to balance the house work tasks between the two of us. I was always very adamant that my husband will treat me as his equal and not his house maid, my husband has always respected this.

thanks for your answer. Sound like a good situation. Since I've been off work and my wife still has a job, I do all the cleaning, shopping and cooking, and it's not so bad being a house maid, but the wife will be doing most of the cooking for thanksgiving, I still have a was to go before I cook for company very often.

Yeah, I am the one who chatted up our friends and got us an invitation to go to THEIR house for Thanksgiving! That is pretty much my department. So far, I've managed to escape cooking for EVERY holiday for the past 15 years we've been married!
He, on the other hand, is good at watching their kids once we get there, so that I can shmooze with the lady of the house... It's a win win. :)

Since I live with my mother, grandmother and sister, it'd be a bit hard for Thanksgiving tasks to be sexist. We do it all! How it works is that we all help out with the cooking and the cleaning. It's only fair that way, since we're all going to participate in eating it. It's like the Little Red Hen.
