I like to dress a bit nicer when we go out to dinner, because sometimes that is the only thing we get to do together as a family during some weeks. We typically do not go to upscale restaurants unless there is a special occasion, such as an anniversary or a holiday, during which I like to dress a bit fancy. But on regular visits to some of the local restaurants, which are pretty nice inside as well, I simply like dressing just a bit above my daily fashion sense. I do not work outside the home and so I typically dress down more than I would like to some days to remain more comfortable and flexible during my daily activities. Therefore, getting out of the house and dressing somewhat nicer allows me to enjoy myself and feel more valuable than I do throughout the day.

Depend on what you mean by dinner. If you mean going out for dinner everytime we eat out, then no. I love to go to hawker stalls, and of course, you don't dress up for that. If you mean going out to restaurants then maybe. Restaurants here are more casual and they don't really care how formal your dresses are. There are Western restaurants that are more formal, but I hardly go there because of their price and my taste preference. I usually go to Chinese, Japanese, cafes, or casual Western restaurants. I do wear something nicer if I go to more upclass restaurants but I don't dress formally. We usually dress formally (wearing a dress and stuff) only to wedding parties or formal family affairs. In fact, if you visit restaurants in Japan, Hongkong, or any part of Asia, you'll see that formal wear is not a requirement for most Asian restaurants.

I do "dress up" for dinner plans in the sense that what I normally wear at home is very, very comfortable and often something that isn't exactly in the best condition. Going out to dinner is a time when I care enough to wear a nicer outfit, my favorite colorful scarf, make-up, a bit of jewelry, etc.

Most of the time, I am still going to choose clothing items that are soft and comfy no matter where we go, but I'll definitely wear my newer and nicer things to go out with my hubby and feel pretty for a few hours.

Then I change right back to old stuff as soon as I get home, to keep pet paws off my nicer clothes.

It depends on the restaurant that you eat at. Some are t-shirt and some are suit and tie.

Not usually. if it's a special occasion like my anniversary or something yes, but its more for my husband than for going out. I'm not very girly I rarely wear make up or do my hair outside of dying it weird colors I wear a lot of just shorts and jeans. So.. he likes to see me dress like a woman every now and then.
