Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
Does anyone actually eat all they can eat at an All-You-Can-Eat buffet, or do you fear being perceived as a glutton?
Basically, are you the Homer Simpson type at a buffet or are you more into what others might say.

I do enjoy myself at good buffets by eating a little of everything rather than making HUGE piles of food on my plate. I can go back so why make such a mess, and that way I can get to enjoy the bounty rather than get stuffed before I can sample the wares.

• Thanks for your answer. I will use that technique in the future and entice my significant other to do the same.

I think you should try to avoid eating too much at buffets since eating in moderation is healthier. I think the best way to eat at a buffet is to first look at everything there, and choose which things you want to try and to take small samples of everything. Now you can decide which things are best to eat and grab a second plate with large portions of the best things there.

I eat as much as I can. It's not being a glutton though. I just make sure to get my money's worth, which is usually 3 or 4 plates. I'm usually at the restaurant with a buffet for 1-2 hours, so I don't see it as a problem.
The most recent example: Pizza Hut's lunch buffet. It's around $10, which is the price of a large pizza I believe. So to make the buffet worth it: about 6 slices of pizza, along with some salad and breadsticks is getting my money's worth.

I eat all I can eat and I also get a little bit of everything that I like or am interested in. You will be perceived as a glutton if you purposely eat until you're going to puke instead of just eating an amount that you would normally eat to be satisfied.
I also think if you find yourself wasting a bunch of food, you're probably taking advantage of the All You Can Eat premise. For example, taking a piece of chicken just to eat the skin or 5 desserts just to eat a bite of each one.

I am a glutton and a cheapskate and I don't care who knows it. I eat all I can, comfortably. I once asked the owner how they made any money at buffets. He said that I would not believe the amount of people that come in and have just a little. People may look at me as being a glutton. The way I figure it, I am, so I don't worry about it. I have friends that go with me and they can eat double what I eat. It doesn't bother them either.
The best variety of buffets I have ever found is in Western North Carolina. Steak restaurants, Pizza restaurants, home cooked restaurants, Chinese, etc.. most of the time for $5 - $7.50, unbelievable. I worked with a 350lb man. He said buffets were the only way he could afford to eat. He was mostly muscle. I looked like a lite weight compared to him.
This video seems to sum it all up!

I enjoy going to buffet restaurants but seldom eat enough to make it worth the price. I like having the choice of many different types of food and might eat more than I normally do, but nobody could call me a glutton! I go for fun, and because my husband enjoys buffet restaurants because he can see what he is eating before he has to eat it, unlike restaurants where you have to place an order from the menu. He's a picky eater who doesn't like surprises.
