Yes, often times, and no I don't feel guilty about it. Why should I feel guilty about? It's not like I'm stealing from them. First, concession area food and drinks usually are way overprice. A small bottle of mineral water can cost 8 times the price if you get it from the supermarket, same goes with the snacks. Then they only provide several kinds of snacks that sometimes I dont feel like eating. I do always buy my popcorn there, sometimes when I dont even watch movies there, as they have the best popcorn with reasonable price. If I feel like drinking coke, I also usually buy it there, as I can't smuggle a glass of coke in my bag.

Yes, and no I did not feel guilty about not purchasing overpriced popcorn or candy bars. Of course we still had to buy the drinks for our family of four, but I did manage to sneak in a chocolate bar for each of us, a pack of gummies and packs of pretzels in my oversized shoulder bag. Nobody noticed and there was also no sign up asking not to bring in outside food. We had went out to dinner prior to the movie, so a little snack minus the usual popcorn was sufficient for us and we only ended up spending about half the money we usually do (since we only had to pay for the movie). It worked out just fine. But it is not a habit and the next time we went to watch a movie, we ended up paying the regular fee again with all inclusive snacks from the theater snack bar. So I guess you could say it evens out. :)

Oh just remembered an incident about a year ago during flu season that made me vow never to buy snacks at the theater again: One of the employees was clearly sick and kept coughing and sneezing while serving customers. I also did not see him wear gloves or stop to wash his hands. Yuck. Really makes you think twice about purchasing their goods. :)

You bet I have! I rarely go to theaters anymore, since I can watch first run movies at home with Netflix or Cable on demand. But back in the day I had this huge US Amy overcoat. It had the largest pockets you ever heard of. I could smuggle an entire 6-pack in one of those pockets! LOL! I remember one particular time while I was watching "The Addams Family Values" in the theater. I heard a woman behind me ask her neighbor, "How did she get that soda in here?" I just grinned and enjoyed it!

No way did I feel guilty. The prices they charge for concessions in the theaters amount to highway robbery!

When I was a kid, I did it all the time. There was a gas station right next to the theater, so our routine was to buy candy from the gas station, then go to the movie. As others have said, their stuff is super overpriced, so we wouldn't have been buying anything from them anyway.

Anymore, I try to avoid movie snacks all together, because they're so insanely bad for you, so I use the high prices to remind myself to just sit and watch the movie.

I mentor a 12-year-old, and when I take her to the movies, I do buy her snacks from the concession stand if she wants something. I figure, it's not worth sneaking stuff in if that teaches her to be dishonest. I feel a little bad about the junk food, but it's pretty occasional.

I don't really go to movies anymore with the technology today but when I did I always brought my own things to eat and drink. The only thing was sometimes I bought popcorn. At certain times we would go as a crowd and sneak in six packs too. Come to think of it sometimes it was even us who snuck into the movie theater. Never felt guilty about a thing.

I can never resist the smell of the popcorn but I bring my own everything else. I think they push people into it by charging 4 dollars for a soda for example. I could see if the price to get in was low jacking up the snack prices to break even but movie admission is not cheap anymore either. For the price of me and my husband to go to a movie I could buy 2. So nope, no guilt.

As a teenager that was a normal occurrence. Everything form soda, to candy bars, even fast food a few times, LOL. Did I feel guilty, no.

Would I do it now? No.

I have often taken my own food into a movie theater. Why? Mostly because the food offered is FAR from nutritious. I would much rather eat a protein bar than candy. The hot buttered popcorn smells great, but the calories would quickly wipe out a week's worth of workouts! No thanks! There are so many good snack foods to eat, that I prefer to "smuggle" them into the theater rather than "sabotage" my health. Nothing to feel guilty about.
