I have never done this because I usually have someone bring a pie because baking isn't my favorite thing to do. However, now that you've asked this question, maybe I'll impress everyone this year and buy a really awesome pie and mess up my kitchen so it looks like I slaved over a hot oven all day!!

No, because I mostly make my own cakes and pies...but if I do buy one then I might add things to it and say I 'helped' make dessert....

but mostly I make my own, its often my 'gift' for the evening or event. I appreciate it when people make there own stuff but I know it can be hard - I'm the only one in my family that bakes cakes, I love cooking and experimenting :)

I haven't, but I have had my mom make the pie dough for me and I do the rest. I usually give my mom the credit. I don't think I could try to pass off a pie that wasn't mine, I'd be worried that someone would ask for the recipe.

No because I usually make my own pies, crust and all. I have had to buy a pie before, but never tried to pass it off as homemade. It is what it is. If I don't have time on a particular holiday to bake, then I don't have time to bake. It's nothing to feel ashamed of. Anyone who would do something like (try to pass off store bought for homemade) is delusional that it would even work since most anyone can tell the difference, and is someone who seems to me to have some issues...someone who can't bear the thought of someone seeing them in a less than positive light, someone who puts WAY too much emphasis on what other people think of them, someone who may have self esteem problems themselves, looking to others for the validation they need to feel worthy.
