Absolutely. However, it can be less than safe! The human liver can only process one ounce of booze per hour. So, if we have really overdone it the night before, and wake up after very little sleep with a hangover, it could mean we are still inebriated! Therefore, having another drink will indeed help – help bring back the buzz! Driving to work or going to an interview, for instance, could prove hazardous. :)

Your question hits so close to home I had to debate whether to answer it or not. I drank hard and heavy for many years. Taking that morning drink to cure a hangover was one of the steps along the way to full blown alcoholism. I see it as almost a right of passage into the chronic stage. It should have been a warning sign. I remember being sick and shaking. I told a friend that I wish there was something I could take to feel better. He said, sure there is, have a beer. I did and was off and running. From then on instead of suffering through the hangover I started going on two and three day sprees. Not a pretty sight.
I am all for someone enjoying a glass of wine. Even the alcohol industry wants people to drink responsibly. There are some people, like myself, that either can't stop once they start or can't quit entirely when they want to stop. Those people should seek help. There are many counselors, hospitals, and programs for one that needs it. Ask yourself these ten questions and see if you may have the same problem that I have. To the rest of you, have one for me! I would but I don't want to make an enemy of you too!
Good luck...
