I have a great link for you, just visit:
http://www.terroir-france.com/theclub/cellar_keepwine.htm#d

On this page you will see the recommended life span of Bordeaux wines by type, e.g. a couple of examples:
Canon-Fronsac - 4 to 10 years
Cotes De Bourg - 2 to 5 years

Check the list out and see if your wine is there would be my advice.

I am advised by wine dealers, the best time to pop Burgundy Red is 2 -3 years! You may be getting close!
