Well, I think that many romantic dinners are only occasional treats and so I think that the occasion may call for a somewhat higher check than regular outings to restaurants. While my husband and I do not typically go out to romantic dinners as much anymore, we do set aside special days during the year, during which we try to find a cozy dinner spot and are not afraid to spend a few extra dollars if necessary. Last year on Valentine’s Day, for example, we took our family (not exactly a romantic dinner, but a special occasion nonetheless) to a Japanese Hibachi restaurant. Excitedly our two boys watched a skilled Japanese chef toss the ingredients to our meals in front of us and fashion up a delicious meal right in front of our eyes. He had quite a few stunts involving food, fire, and seasonings in store for us as well, and my little son was enjoying the view so much that my husband and I found the meal was well worth the $100 we spent for that night.

Under 50 dollars. If its more than that I'd rather make dinner at home and really go all out. I've spent around 50 on anniversaries and such.. well and on drinking out on the town lol My top was almost 600.. it was in germany.. you forget a euro is not a dollar when you've had about 10 shots of jager...

I think it would depend on the situation and whether or not we really liked the restaurant. If it was a very special occasion that only came around once a year and we were very fond of the restaurant I would spend 50-75 dollars.

$250

Yes I know that is far higher then what other people said, and no I am not rich, it is just that I believe fine dining can be an event. I may have one meal every several years that costs this much, but in my opinion it is worth it.

One of my favorite memories is a fine meal at a very upscale establishment. It was expensive to be sure, but would have been worth it at twice the price.

I've personally done $210 before. I'll go with cheapgamer and say $250, but I'd be more comfortable with $200 or less. As long as it's a truly amazing experience, you don't really miss the money. Fortunately, when you get into this price range, the restaurants truly know how to impress.
