According to The Wine News Magazine website salmon is wines friendliest fish because so many different wines go well with it. That being the case the only real concern would be what works best with the steak.

Many wine experts say that picking the best wine for a steak dinners depends greatly on what kind of steak you are having. I prefer more of a sweet wine over a dry for steak. Three wine types to consider here would be Merlot, Chianti or Shiraz.

Merlot goes well with about any medium-body dish like burgers or pork chops and in this case steaks.

The Chianti wine is fruitier flavored wine and is one of my favorites. It also goes great with Italian style dishes like lasagna.

Shiraz wines are a little heavier to me, kind of peppery or spicy but go well with steak.

My suggestions would be a bottle of pinot noir or even a bottle of sparkling rose wine.
