Conundrum Next Conundrum
What is the most expensive bottle of wine you've had the pleasure of drinking?
I'll start, mine was an '82 Lafite Rothschild, a bit cliche, but I have to say it was quite awesome. It was from a friend's collection, he had a couple of magnums and according to him it was the perfect time to drink it.
Did you enjoy it? Was it worth the price? Did you pay for it?

2001 Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Red Rock Terrace. Around $250. While in Napa, we were fortunate enough to receive a special invitation to picnic on the Diamond Creek Grounds and get a tour by the owner Al Brounstein. He rode in a golf cart, as he was very ill at the time (and died shortly thereafter)...but you could tell he loved his land and his grapes, and loved to tell how he began his journey as a wine maker.. My avatar is a picture that I took while on that tour with Al. The signs point to the different wine growing areas.
It was worth it to spend the day with Al and the grapes. We shared the price with friends. I enjoyed it immensely! Thanks for the memories!
