Ha! I would sit by and just keep a smile plastered on my face. Say nothing. Do nothing. Just sit back and watch one of life's amazing awkward moments pass and be glad as hell it's not me in the spotlight.
And yes, I would raise my glass. Aside from a direct insult, the toast was probably well-intentioned and the poor dolt probably deserves at least a little nod of confidence.
Plus maybe by raising my glass it could help suppress my giggles!
Just a thought...

I find that inappropriate toasts are not said by accident, but on purpose by people who simply don't wish to be appropriate. I've been in this situation before, and I don't raise my glass. Once other people see that I'm taking a stand, they're usually relieved that they don't need to raise their glasses either. You always need one person to take a stand first and I don't really mind being that guy.

I think that from the look on my face they would know that they had offended me. I wouldn't have to say a thing, but probably would give them a sarcastic "thanks." I don't hide my feelings very well, don't even try! I am who I am. I'd probably still raise my glass but reconsider our friendship, if we even had one.
