I am more concerned with genetically modified food.
I'm concerned that once a genetically revised strain gets into the wild it will be too late to change it. I know that scientists say that the risk to GM crops is low but how would scientists know precisely?
The risk is that some GM modification eventually causes a problem in the food chain that is irreversible. I also don't like the thought of fish and animal cells being put into plant cells (e.g. Omega 3). The whole area seems a bit weird, although I have to admit that there are some undeniable benefits in terms of disease control and eradication in plant species.
But for me GM is what frightens me the most.

I am not particularly concerned about either one. You could probably tilt my opinion one way or the other simply by plopping the appropriate scary news story in front of me. However, what I do know about this world is that people don't like lawsuits. If any of this turns out to cause significant problems, the financial ramifications will change the behavior of companies in the future. I personally have enough faith in this process to feel comfortable focusing my time and energy on other things.
