We are expecting about 20 this year, which is about normal. We plan to do everything just as normal as possible. Not that we have been unaffected by the economy, but we have already done our cutting back in other areas. For example, we don't go out to eat at restaurants anymore. Ever. We cut it out of our budget. We figure that has saved us $15 to $30 per week, maybe more. We also don't go out to movies. That's another $30 per month minimum. So right there we've saved well over $100 per month, and I barely scratched the surface. We only turned the air conditioning on twice this summer, etc, etc.
Now as for thanksgiving. Our family needs Thanksgiving this year. We've had hard times in the last few years, loved ones passing on, and so on. This year we need to concentrate on being thankful for what we have, and for the good years we had with our loved ones before they died. We need to move on past some of the grief and sorrow if we can, and I don't know a better way than to concentrate on the good things we have been given. So this year, we will give thanks.

due to the economy, both my husband and myself are working that day, and teh day after instead of taking the day off and spending it with family. We are splitting the day, him working the morning and me working the night, while still fitting in a small dinner with just our family, but hope to be back to a large celebration next year.

Our family never had a large Thanksgiving to begin with. Our relatives are few and flung all across the country, so it's been traditional just to have the four of us (me, my sister, my mother, and my grandmother.) So it doesn't really cost that much, because there's only so much food we can eat, and we usually don't decorate aside from taking out some Thanksgiving plates we've had in years.
Christmas we do downsize, at least in decorations and the amount of gifts we get each other, but we've never had a pressing need to cut back on Thanksgiving -- and believe me, the economy's hit us just as hard as anyone.
