When my son was old enough to drink milk, I started by giving him short cups of milk. Going from formula to milk, I felt, was also the time to go from bottle to cup.

I took him to the store and let him pick out his special sippy cup and that is how we started. I didn't mix it, i didn't think to actually. But he went through the transition very easily.

This is my third child so here is my experience.

You will gradually replace 1oz of milk to the formula for a few days for each bottle and then every 2 days replace 1 oz more milk untill you are at full milk.
If they have any issues like gas, loose stools or constipation.Contact your pediatrician right away. This may mean they are lactose intollerant.
