Interesting....
You know, whether or not you agree with their decision, you really have to admire their willingness to oppose things that aren't in line with the corporate philosophies and initiatives. I'm not sure if being a member of the Chamber of Commerce really does a business any good. I've been 'invited' to be a member with my company, but it costs a minimum of $250 bucks to register and then you have to pay dues every year and I don't see any real incentive for me to do so. My business is mostly online anyway, so I don't really have a store-front that can be benefited by local initiatives.
Still, it's interesting and admirable to me that they are willing to make a choice like this.
At the same time, though, I must say I think this is as much a publicity ploy to highlight the green initiatives as anything else. I'm not sure where to draw the line between good for standing up for your rights versus why to get attention for yourself and perhaps a little propaganda to boot.

• Great answer Michelle! I'm sure it's a ploy as you said, but it's a gutsy ploy.
