Ohhh yesss, I live in NH and no it does not make me happy. I actually despise the winter here. It is long. frigid, snowy, icy, and miserable. I would be more than delighted to see palm trees at Christmas. Everything is more difficult and expensive in the winter, driving, just walking the dog, heat, etc. I know I sound like a Grinch but after 40 years I could care less about snow. I don't snowmobile or ski and am lousy at skating. I would much rather go boating on a delightful summer day. I don't begrudge anyone who likes the nasty snow, it does add some atmosphere to the season I suppose. Sometimes I pretend it isn't really winter and barbeque but even the dog knows I am just being silly.

We actually have a chance of snow flurries on Christmas Eve which makes my son deliriously happy. It won't last though the ground is to warm here and it will probably melt as soon as it hits. He's going to be so upset when he wakes up and it's all going to be gone.

I have been born and raised in the northeast region of the country. I can remember as a child that as soon as the snow started to fly, we all knew Christmas was soon upon us. As I sit here commenting on your question, I am watching as the first real snow starts to fall here. I was as giddy as a kid in a toy store when I heard the news of the storm coming. Snow is synonymous with Christmas, and as that is my absolute favorite holiday, I'm so excited. There are so many ways to enjoy a fresh snowfall.
1. An evening drive, hot chocolate and Christmas lights.
2. Sled Riding
3. Snowboarding or Skiing
4. Snowball Fights
5. Simply watching it fall, snuggled on the couch with a hot cup of tea and no where to go.
Understandable are those who despise the snow. It can be dangerous as well as a nuisance. Shoveling and digging the car out on a windy snowy day can be miserable. Not to mention auto accidents because of slippery and snowy road conditions.
Be careful everyone, and have a safe Christmas. Let it Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

I'm in Minnesota. I think it's cold and snowing most of the year. I've been back for a little over 4 years and I'm finally getting used to the cold and winter. I figured out that I like it a lot more with really cute winter boots and winter gear...
I've also figured out that it's hella fun for my daughter. I hate snow personally, but I love to watch my daughter screaming and laughing when it snows.
I have lived places where snow wasn't guaranteed for Christmas and it always seemed kind of odd. I prefer the warmer climates, but I guess it just doesn't seem right to not have a white Christmas.

I'm in North Carolina, but against all odds, we just might have a White Christmas! Seriously. It hasn't happened as long as I remember, but yesterday, there was quite a bit of snowfall. Now, of course, this amount of snowfall is probably piddling anywhere else, but here? Here, it's practically a blizzard. Everyone was running around like it was Armageddon, stocking up on supplies and bottled water.
To answer the second part of your question -- yes, it would be nice. I admit a lot of this is colored by living in a climate that isn't all that much different than the verse of the White Christmas song ("There's never been such a day in Beverly Hills, LA...") But I see depictions of Christmas and tradition and family, and it's all accompanied by a fireplace inside and a snowfall outside. I've never experienced that, and it would be nice to.
