Color. I don't have any visual memories to back this up, but I have kept a dream diary for a few years, and there are numerous references to things being specific colors, or different colors -- a red dress, for instance. It's entirely possible that I might have dreamed in black and white one night, sometime, but either I never wrote the dream down or never thought that aspect was worth noting.

In color. There are numerous times I can remember in my dreams that it was colored. Lately, I dreamt my spouse's face is red, can't exactly recall why, it just splashed then gone. I'm trying to think what it meant but then I forgot about it after a few days. After a few days passed, they were at the farm and my spouse called and said his face is all red, I got scared really, it turned out that my spouse fell on his face and shoulders first, making his face red (it bled) but he's fine now. Then, I remember my dream, maybe there is a connection, I don't know. Maybe when one has a nightmare, I would think it is in living color, HD possibly, lol...

Both.. sometimes in the same dream.
Some nights I have every realistic dreams and I have trouble realizing I'm actually not awake. They often begin with me waking up. There have been times I actually woke up and argued with my husband about things he did in the dream, because I thought they happened.
Other nights I have really bizarre dreams and bits and pieces will be black and white, other parts color.

I agree that there are ways to generate lucid dreaming, as I have dreamed many times about flying to different places and always have known that I was not awake. I always dream in color, however, because that is what I see. I believe if you are color blind that you would dream in a color blind view point. You can only dream that which you have perceived. However, since I have seen black and white television shows, I could possibly dream in black and white because of that. I just never have. Dreaming is just a way for the mind to assimilate what it has learned from the previous awakenings.
