The deal is not begun or clarified on the handshake, but the debate and price altering of important deals does need a significant point in time to be able to call itself concluded. This is why the handshake is important - not only as a long-held symbol of the deal, or as a primitive way to seal it, but as a marker in the conversation to imply that little else is needed to be discussed. Handshakes are especially necessary on large transactions, because of the subtle movements and shifts in the pricing policies and warranties.

On a hand shake alone, nope not a chance unless it was family or someone I trusted very, very much. In this day and age it's just to risky to risk a he said she said court battle because I was too silly to get it in writing and trusted a hand shake. If it's any thing of real value.. I want it in writing and witnessed, and then a hand shake is fine.

To make a business deal with large sums of money should be done in the proper way, that is with a contract and a handshake. To do it only with a handshake is not proper and can be considered stupid. Trust has to be done with the correct protocol. Because is it just a handshake and you got swindle your only remedy would be to take wrong kind of contract to hire a hitman to get revenge or your money back. you could end up making deadly threats which is illegal just to recover you money. While if you have a contract written before you gave your large sums of money, you can just go to court.

Absolutely not. Sounds a little cold but there aren't many honorable people out there. I think this era is full of scam artists and IOU's that don't materialize. Banks are for loans and handshakes are for extending a hello or congratulations....or catching germs. :)
