When I was looking for a band to perform with, I had met a metal singer who seemed nice at first, but who was very open to judge previous bandmembers who had left the group.
I initially found his initial "honesty" to be blunt and to the point regarding the prior said band members, but after about three months I came to discover for myself that he was the actual cause of them leaving.
Being two-faced was a quality he masked in deception until I got to know him better.
I guess true colors do tend to come out in time. A life lesson I definitely will carry with me.

Thinking that a new friend was open and honest with her chatter, at first I enjoyed talking and visiting with her.
But over time the chatting got more and more time consuming, which took me away from my work at home, and I soon realized that she was constantly repeating her stories and complaints, and it became tiresome and boring.
I tried to nicely say that I just could not see her or talk on the phone with her for so long because I had articles that I must get written; but when she paid no attention to the "gentle" hints, I had to finally cut off my relationship with her when she got nasty at my not giving her as much of my time.
I must admit it was a big relief when I no longer had to deal with her!!!

Of course. Usually I see this in people who are bubbly or happy. It seems like that makes them a warm and friendly person, but when you peel away the topmost layers of their personality you find out that they're masking something really ugly about themselves. They're fake, they're phony.
I've also had the same feeling about some people who I admired for being "dark and deep". Same problem in the end: It ended up being a front for a different personality underneath. Just a poser.
And even the people who genuinely portray who they are, sometimes a disposition that seems romantic, intriguing, or exciting later on can seem immature, foolish, or miserable.
That's why I always try not to envy anyone's outlook or attitude, because so rarely what you see is what you get!
